We do know, however, that a certain mythology is making it possible for NPR Music to take the day off — which is why I'm blogging here, of course — and moreover, for this to have been made: Fletcher Henderson, "Christopher Columbus" (last.fm)

Nobody's uploaded that particular recording to YouTube yet, but a search reveals plenty of hot swing/trad-jazz styled bands (mostly European) playing Fletcher Henderson's hit. These Americans stick largely to the original arrangement, lack of a Roy Eldridge solo notwithstanding:
