Just in case you thought the Complete Miles Davis Columbia Album Collection 70-CD set was just a bit too unwieldy, you'll soon be able to pick up the svelte The Genius Of Miles Davis, a 43-disc assembly itself made up of eight different, previously-released box sets. The limited edition package comes with a t-shirt, lithograph, replica of Miles' mouthpiece and a carrying case designed to look like a trumpet case. (A trumpet case comprised of box sets: does this remind anyone else of a certain robot warrior made up of mechanical lions?) According to a press notice sent out today, the Genius set — and a few deluxe reissues of Bitches Brew — will be available for pre-order on Davis' birthday, May 26.
