- Sonny Rollins turned 80. Marc Myers drove around Harlem with him, while Larry Blumenfeld did an interview.
- Label man, promoter, artist manager and guitarist Greg Pasenko, late of the short-lived Chicago venue Club Blujazz, has a new blog dedicated to the business end of things. It's called The Jazz Artist's Survival Guide.
- Speaking of that, Dave Holland responds to an NPR blog (this post in particular) about the nature of the DIY music business.
- Don't remember when I first came across it, but the folks at the blog Something Else! listen to an awful lot of jazz.
- Vijay Iyer makes a great mix with lots of unreleased music (psst: all the Search and Restore podcasts), and the Wall Street Journal does one of the better pieces I've read on him. Plus, he also made this track for Das Racist.
