I ran into Carrie at the Spin party this afternoon — where lots of fans skipped the headliner, X, once Vampire Weekend was done playing — and sprinted back to the hotel to beat her to the punch on the blog. Today's red-hot scoop, which you read here (ahem) first: X is still really, really good.

So.... who are you?
Of course X was great, why wouldn't they be? Why anyone would miss an opportunity to see them live is a puzzle to me.
Isn't X known to be one of the best live bands ever? Don't we all know this?
So true, X still rips it out live and hardddddd. John Doe is still a wonderful musical fixture in his own right. What a shame that people bailed after VW.
I saw X open for Warren Zevon in Atlanta when Exene was pregnant. That baby is now college-aged and I feel very old. I'm glad the band is still rocking.
