Frightened Rabbit played KUT Mornings at the Hilton on Thursday.

Yesterday The Parish in Austin, Tex. shook with the sounds of gritty guitars, thunderous drum machines, and even silvery strings. Our day party began with a modern string quartet (Brooklyn Rider) and finished off with a raucous electro-pop duo (Sleigh Bells). In between, audiences experienced the fresh revivalist rock of bands like Smith Westerns, Surfer Blood, and Local Natives, as well as an outstanding, historic performance from Huntsville, Ala. rap duo G-Side. In addition, the NPR Music team is spending every spare moment seeing bands all around Austin, and capturing beautiful photos.
