Paul Simon is a national treasure. His music, both new and old, balances great poetry and pop. His latest song continues that tradition.
"Getting Ready for Christmas Day" features a sample from an American Christian preacher and gospel artist, Rev. J.M. Gates. The recording of Gates is from 1941. The music is from Simon's new album, So Beautiful Or So What, which comes out in the spring of 2011 on Hear Music/Concord Music Group.
