Behind the scenes photos from Sasquatch
The Gorge amphitheater outside Seattle has to be one of Earth's most beautiful spots, and it's the backdrop to a long weekend of amazing music. You'll find our coverage of Sasquatch 2011 on the NPR Music site (and on the NPR Music app for iPhone) throughout the weekend and beyond.
NPR Music has a tent at the foot of the big stage known as Sasquatch — naturally, there are other stages, dubbed Yeti and Bigfoot. We'll begin broadcasting at noon Pacific Time on Saturday, but in the meantime, we've already posted shows by Bob Mould, Death From Above 1979 and Mariachi El Bronx. Hosts from KUT, KEXP and The Current will be here webcasting the likes of Wilco, The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse, as well as up-and-comers like Typhoon, City and Colour, and Best Coast.
Here's a bit of scene-setting photos that will give you an idea of this incredible place. We'll have a number of photographers posting shots throughout the weekend.
Follow us on Twitter @allsongs (though cell coverage here is hit-and-miss) and join our chat rooms, which you'll find on the same page as the concert audio.
Enjoy!
