Feist Is Back With 'Metals'

Feist- Metals

It's hard to believe it's been four years since Feist broke through with The Reminder. It seems like only yesterday we were blaring "1, 2, 3, 4" through one of those brightly colored iPod Nanos. But on Oct. 4, the Canadian singer is back with her fourth solo album, Metals.

Don't think you can wait until October? Feist is releasing 12 teaser vignettes on her site that offer a sneak peek at the new album. Two have been released so far. One is a creepy black-and-white time-lapse clip that focuses on a powerful drum machine.

The other gives a kaleidoscopic view of Feist's time in the studio. Recorded in Toronto and Big Sur, Calif., Metals was co-produced by Feist mainstays Chilly Gonzalez and Mocky. Newbie Valgeir SigurĂ°sson, known for his work with Bjork and Bonnie "Prince" Billy, also had a hand in this one.

One soon-to-be-revealed video features the mysterious date of August 2. The release of her first single, perhaps? All will be revealed soon enough. In the meantime, check back here to see what Feist has in store.
