Another tribute album for Argentine band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is currently in the works. The record company behind the project is calling for band submissions to cover one song: El Satánico Dr. Cadillac. Interested bands have until November 26th, and you can find out more about submission guidelines by clicking here.
With their unique blend of ska, funk, rhythms of the River Plate and Brazil, and political storytelling in a yelping voice that is completely endearing, Los Fabulosos won a place in the hearts of Latin music lovers around the world. If you aren't familiar with them, you still might have heard their hits "Matador" or "Mal Bicho." And let's not forget ''Vasos Vacios,'' a beautiful duet with Celia Cruz.
The first tribute album, A Tribute to Los Fabulosos Cadillacs: Vos Sabes . . . Cómo Te Esperaba includes tracks from Aterciopelados, Nortec Collective and Kapanga. Here's my question for you all: What's your favorite Fabulosos Cadillacs song, and what artist would you like to hear covering it? One of my favorite Cadillacs songs is ''Soledad'' off of the album Leon. I think those fast ska beats would lend themselves to a great punk rock version.

¿A Quien Elegirías Para Interpretar Una Canción De Los Fabulosos Cadillacs?
Al parecer se esta creando otro álbum tributo a Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. La compañía disquera detrás del proyecto esta pidiendo que bandas de todo el mundo envíen sus versiones de la canción “El Satánico Dr. Cadillac.” Las bandas interesadas tienen hasta el 26 de Noviembre, y si te interesa puedes averiguar mas sobre como participar haciendo click aquí.
Con su mezcla única de ska, funk, ritmos Rioplatenses y Brasileros y un talento para contar historias politizadas en una voz que aúlla con dolor, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs se ganaron los corazones de amantes de la música Latina en el mundo entero.
El primer álbum de este estilo, titulado Tributo A Los Fabulosos Cadillacs: Vos Sabes…Como Te Esperaba, incluye canciones de Aterciopelados, Nortec Collective y Kapanga.
Ahora les hago una pregunta: ¿Cual es tu canción favorita sobre los Fabulosos Cadillacs, y a que artista te gustaría oír hacer un cover? Una de mis canciones favoritas de los Cadillacs es “Soledad” del álbum Leon. Creo que esos rápidos alaridos de ska serian perfectos para una versión más punk rock.
