Bryant Park: Road to Respect XVIII

The scrappiest eight acres in New York City face more disrespect in the latest installment of our series. We've been digging into the history of Bryant Park. Here's the second part of a several-part series. With violent draft dodgers and dope dealers running the show for a hundred or so years, things get worse for Bryant Park before they get better.

If you haven't seen the first part, click here to take a look...

Win, I love the sound effects.

I enjoyed the history of bryant park so far. Reading some of the other comments about the style of delivery, I have to agree with the tone of the delivery. It seems to be targeted to the 13 year old crowd rather than those interested in history. A bit neuvo cutsy.

It's great. Ken Burns will never dare to take a day off for a haircut now.

Thanks for the history done in a cool way. I can't pass Bryant Park without using that voice saying "Bryant Park the road to respect." Who knew all that happened in Bryant Park! By the way....is the reporter single?

Thanks for all the comments. Hopefully, the BPP will offer up video in a wide variety of tones and flavors - so if you aren't into the delivery of the BP:R2R series, maybe you'll dig the next one, CHris. And, Jojo, thanks for the less...um...academic evaluation of my report. Although I'm not too "NPR" to appreciate a superficial compliment from time to time...I am taken.
