We Made the 'New York Times!'

While we are working furiously toward our terrestrial and satellite radio launch on Monday, we took a minute to be excited by this article in today's New York Times.

Luke thinks the picture makes him look like a duck, but otherwise we're pretty happy with the piece.

Back to work!

Great article. But I think they got their facts a little off. I don't think the auto workers strike was part of "Make Me Care."

Nice tattoo, Luke!

Hey, Susie, actually they were right. We did the UAW situation twice--once as a "Make Me Care" while they were still negotiating with GM and before they called a strike.

Congrats! I saw that you will be on Sirius, but what about XM? I have XM, so the Sirius thing doesn't help me...

NPR is exclusive to Sirius, you will not be able to get it on XM. The public radio programming on XM is from APM and PRI.

Perhaps you should do a ripped from the headlines segment about this article... LOL!

The NYT article is not that strong! How are you going to improve the show, because it needs work. The WNYC show has proven journalists as hosts. How many stations are going to air the show?

Great article in the NYT. It should be a nice boost for the show. I am excited as I actually made the NYT, as I think (I am probably fooling myself) that I introduced the NPR Lite concept. I have since adusted my attitude as I believe that the BPP both tastes great and is less filling.

Looking forward to Monday!

Jim

I hate to say it, but...I'm afraid Luke's entirely on-target about the ducky qualities of the photo.

Richard -- thanks for the comment. Where do you think the show needs work? (And we happen to think our hosts are fantastic journalists, too.)

Quack, Burbank. Quack.

Wow! The B double P is now listed on NPR.org's program side bar and in the program drop down menu (starting Friday, September 28, 2007). I can't wait for it to get listed as a graduate on the Rough Cuts page.

This is making me teary eyed. My baby (whom I share with many of you) is growing up into an actual show.
