A report has cleared police in the Tasing of the University of Florida student Andrew Meyer on Sept. 17, at a speech by former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry. As the officers moved toward him, Meyer famously shouted, "Don't Tase me, bro!"
Of course the police should be cleared. The public has got to realize that tools like the TASER actually prevent injuries to people like Meyer. Before this tool was available, the officers would have had to beat him with a baton or their fists. Then the whole world would criticize them for that! You can't have it both ways.
