Handsome Luke Still Loves Sigur Ros

description

Sigur Ros, in their disastrous interview.

From a Win Rosenfeld video

Host Luke Burbank forwards this, another entry in his personal Sigur Ros saga:

"The Sigur Ros Shame Train rolls on. Someone I barely know forwarded me the following link. I gotta say, it's a weird feeling to see a bunch of people you've never met voting on whether you're an idiot or not. I'm relieved to report that Option 2 (They're tired of interviews, so they're chillin') is in the lead with 43%. Option 1 (The host is an idiot, what can they do?) is second with 29%.

"Option 4 (They are dazzled by the host's handsomeness) has no votes. Because it doesn't exist. But it should."

I think that it's great how you've turned this disaster of an interview into a meta-conversation about what makes a bad interview. You have truly snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

I wanted to vote for option four! Rikki is right it's like what our parents used to tell us when we were growing up; shake off that horrible experience and emerge triumphant. Luke you can really work this situation-I see a chapter in your autobiography dedicated to this incident-"The Sigur Ros Interview a.k.a How to Turn Humiliation into Victory" or something equally as winning. Big ups to you!

Luke I love how you are now more famous than Sigur Ros! You have brought NPR to the new internet age. Well done Burbank!

I was really excited by that last comment until I realized it posted by my sister. Even so, thanks Hanzer.

It seems like this 'flop' has done mpre to publicize the BPP than any ad campaign NPR could have launched. Even if only a small fraction of those who watched/listened to the interview (excluding the Icelandic haters) you've got yourself a decent bump.

Umm ... totally tired of this topic. Let it die, Luke.

wow, I feel Luke Burbank's pain. I'm on my highschool newsapaper staff, and it's tough when you fail at an interview, and I can't imagine thaousands of people seeing me fail too.
