We had the very funny Mohammed Amer on the show this morning. He's a stand-up comic with "Allah Made Me Funny" — a group of Muslim-American comedians keepin' it real — real funny, that is.
After the jump, check out the YouTube clip of the promo video for their movie coming out next spring.
I have an 8-year-old nephew. I call him Sammy, but his name happens to be Osama . . . We get to Walmart. He's 8 years old, he's running away. . . I say, "Sammy, come here." He says my name's OSAMA!! I said, "Shut up, do you know how many people hunt at Walmart"
When I was doing the prep for this segment I found the "Rules of Joking in Islam" on the IslamCan website. There are some really interesting guidelines like "Set a limit to your jokes, for going to extremes makes you lose respect and incites the foolish against you" (sage advice for the BPP staff . . . not that I'm saying YOU guys are the foolish . . .).
So what are the rules of joking about ANY religion? Or are Jews, Gentiles and everything in between fair game?
