We're watching President Bush's press conference today, and a whole lot of it has to do with Iran — which, it turns out, U.S. intelligence now says gave up trying to make nuclear weapons in 2003.
And in the middle of trying to sort out for the world what the U.S. knew and did not know about Iran and when, President Bush just said:
"Why is it that you can't get exact knowledge — quicker?"
I often wonder that myself.
It is amazing what you can tell of a person's real persona by carefully watching him/her on TV or listening on radio. I think this is why many people dislike Bush so, because you get a picture of his mean bullying character, and also that he is such a ham and publicity hound, trying to get on TV every single day.
Radio is even more effective if you listen closely. That's why I really like the people at BPP. I think I have come to know that Alison Stewart is a really nice person, in a way that was not that apparent to me when I watched her occasionally fill in for Keith Olbermann on TV.
I also have come to like Luke Burbank, although I find his persona much more complex, whether good or bad, I cannot say. But I do feel let down that he is leaving.
