Trouble Downloading the Show?

If you've been having trouble downloading the show -- or getting the podcast, or iTunes-ing it, or whatever -- please know that we're officially on the hunt for whatever gremlins have lately been coming between us.

I'm here to testify that complete shows from yesterday and today have landed in my iTunes. If you've gotten bum ones or no ones, it's probably time to try again.

Or, you could download them straight from the source: today/ yesterday

Sorry for the hassle. Thanks for sticking with us. A fix is on the way. Promise.

In the piece on Hillary Clinton, Alison referred to a story on Daily Kos, who, according to Alison, "you would expect to be on her side.." Really? As even a casual reader of Daily Kos such as myself would know, the denizens of Daily Kos have overwhelmingly sided against Hillary thus far in the primary race. The favorite candidate of the Kos crowd currently is John Edwards, followed by Barack Obama. They routinely mock her campaign (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/24/22415/462/116/426009), excoriate her conservative positions on the war, and in the most recent Daily Kos "Straw Poll" (12/19/07), she only polled 4 points ahead of "No Freakin' Clue":

John Edwards 41%
Barack Obama 27%
Chris Dodd 10%
Hillary Clinton 6%
Dennis Kucinich 5%
No Freakin' Clue 2%

Seriously, anyone with even a passing familiarity with Daily Kos would know that most of the bloggers and readers there can't stand Hillary's inside-the-Beltway, carefully triangulated, hawkish Democrat stance, and are working overtime to ensure the success of at least one or more of her rivals. So, no, Alison - we wouldn't expect them to be on her side. What, or whom, leads you to believe anyone should?

I haven't been able to download a podcast from NPR since Dec. 3rd. I use Zencast. I do not have an ipod, I have a Zen.
I subscribe to six different NPR podcasts, but none work anymore.

Just to add to the list, yesterday I had trouble downloading the 12-23-07 "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" podcast. On my computer NPR podcasts seem to have more difficulty downloading in their entirety when there is other internet activity going on, in the background, at the same time.

Don't know if this helps, but...

I have been able to download the podcast, but it ends up being way shorter than it's supposed to be in iTunes. (16 minutes was the worst.)

I've been downloading the generic mp3 from the NPR site, then importing it into iTunes as music. That has solved the problem for me.

Maura's solution also worked for me when no other fix was possible two weeks ago. I found though that deleting the truncated file (in iTunes), unsubscribing from the podcast, and then resubsribing to the podcast often allowed the file to be downloaded properly with no problems.

The shows from 3/20/08 and 3/21/08 came through truncated into iTunes (15 minutes and 5 minutes each).
