Candidates Stump in Twitter Nation

Twitter is all the rage around here. (See?)

I'm scrounging around for legitimate Twitter feeds from the presidential candidates. So far, my list looks like this:

Ron Paul, @RonPaul2008, with 822 followers
John Edwards, @johnedwards, with 4,282 followers
Barack Obama, @BarackObama, with 6,654 followers
Hillary Clinton, @hillaryclinton, with 197 followers

How much do I love to think of presidential candidates twittering from their cell phones? SO much. Wish their twits were incredibly mundane.

"Eating tuna sandwich next to big woman at diner counter. Need singles for tip."

I know their assistants do the twittering, but I can at least keep the visual in my head.

Dr. Ron Paul is in my opinion the only candidate who speaks substantively on the grave issues which face our republic, I really get tired of hearing people refer to the United States as a democracy, I realize that the 17th amendment to our Constitution destroyed our republic but, after reading federalist number 10 I do not think anyone could come away believing that our central government was not intended to be a republic where the check of the executive branch was insured by the Senate being directly beholden to their State and its people for favor. I believe that all the other candidates will continue to turn our country upside down as far as who is the sovereign.

Laura -- thought you might be interested in this story about "politweets":

Many Twitter users are now "tweeting"--sending out--their political views to their "followers", or readers. A new website called Politweets gleans the "tweets" which mention political candidates' names and then displays them on its site in real time. What Politweets captures hints at public opinion and trends regarding the election.

(do html tags work here? wasn't sure...sure wish you had a preview button...)

Hi Carlo,

Yes, html tags work just fine. I incorporated your link into your post since the URL was too long to display on the page.
