BPP Bake Off Winner Caitlin Kenney

description

Celebrity judge and NPR New York office manager Agnes Janiszewski

BPP

I am proud to say that I am the official winner of the BPP Bake Off with my chocolate espresso mousse cake with fresh raspberry puree. Ian was a great challenger, and his dish was very artistic but in the end Agnes put it best when she described Ian's cake as "a healthy brownie." I would like to thank my mom for giving a love of baking and my dad for teaching me that you can never have too much butter or too much cream. Glad to know I can still live up to my high school nickname, Betty.

Congratulations Caitlin. Any chance of getting the recipe?

I, too, would like the recipe for the chocolate-raspberry slice of awesome. My wedding cake was chocolate with raspberry goo between the layers so I love that combo!

If the artists are willing to part with their secrets, please include Ian's recipe, too.

For the record, Matthew Diffee is not alone. I am totally against raspberry sauces besmirching my chocolate. Would the space-time continuum be damaged if I made Caitlin's mousse and used Ian's recipe for sauce to top it?

Congrats to Caitlin! And my condolences to Ian - better luck next time. Speaking of which, I look forward to potentially entering the fray...

It's taken me all day to comment on this because I've been busy booking guests and crying. But Betty, well done. And I demand a rematch.

One thing I've learned from office baking contests: more chocolate, more win. Since Ian's stumble out of the gate seemed to be recipe choice, maybe the ultimate test of baking-fu would be if both contestants baked the same recipe? I'd say lemon pound cake.

Sounds yummy! But I thought this site would provide the recipe? Are you going to?

Congratulations Caitlin. It does sound sublime. I too would delight in getting the recipe

Aggie-- You look so cute! Wish I could have sampled the desserts. Congrats on winning Caitlin!
