Video: Jake Sasseville in the BPP Studio

We had Jake Sasseville on the BPP today, the 22-year-old star of a new late night show aptly named The Edge with Jake Sasseville. We filmed some highlights from the interview and spliced in a snippet of episode one.

I'm not saying this show is going to be a bomb. He could be a talented dude.

But...

Are people who truly embody the voice of a generation typically those who say they are going to brand themselves as such? Or is the title of Voice something that gets acquired naturally?

What does it say about his generation where people are "brands"? It's a rather cold business like term not really associated with art or philosophy, which I would hope a voice of generation would be more in tune with.

And doesn't EVERY generation say they are THE generation who makes things happen and does things on their own terms?

Isn't the word irreverent so overused that it's become... irreverent?

And lastly how does he reconcile the paradox between being a voice of a generation while simultaneously being irreverent? WOAH! He just blew my mind with that brain twister....

I could easily be considered part of this guy's generation, and ??? just for the record ??? this Mr. Sasseville does not stand for or represent the voices, views, opinions, or values of my generation or any of our affiliates. I can not stress this enough.

I find this "host" to be repulsive and even downright embarrassing. Babbling on about the money you pull in from less than cool companies, your awesome trip to Vegas and how you scored interviews with C-list celebrities does not make you the voice of a generation. In fact, it does not even make you interesting. If Jake is the voice of our generation then we have some sad years ahead of us.

He's simply not funny, or entertaining.

Perhaps he should stick to a marketing career.
