Linkfest: Guys Are Clueless

Guys are clueless. That's the news from Indiana University's Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences.

"Young men just find it difficult to tell the difference between women who are being friendly and women who are interested in something more," says one researcher.

Um, y'all? It's the BPP's Ramble.

Driver blames speeding on bad Oreo dunk/ Saturn moon may be hiding an ocean/ Man proposes over Twitter/ Men are emotionally clueless

"she wants me, she wants me."

Technically in the hypothetical cartoon strip it wouldn't all be "she wants me", because the study clearly stated that men can often misinterpret sexual signals for platonic ones. The study didn't say guys think all women want them.

I'm gay, but know quite a few straight people. And I dunno about this study. Like, where's the accompanying study showing that young women can be terrible at sending signals? It's true; don't deny it. So it's not that men are always misreading something clear; it can often be the case men are taking a guess at a very bad signal.

Gay men do the same thing too with each other. Gay women too. Young/youngish adults in general are bad at communicating at the adult level; adult relationships (platonic or otherwise) take practice.

Regarding the cookie accident...In his "Live on the Sunset Strip" performance, Richard Pryor indicated that he caught on fire while he dunked cookies in milk - a before bedtime ritual, he said.

"No dunk driving." I think you need to give Trish props on that one.
