Linkfest: Wesley Snipes, 'Mighty Oak'

From today's Ramble:

In Israel, a soldier was sentenced to 19 days in jail for uploading a picture of himself on his military base.

In Florida, Denzel Washington turned out for Wesley Snipes' sentencing on three convictions for failing to file income taxes. Washington called Snipes "a mighty oak" and the judge noted the "basic soundness and goodness of his heart." Snipes faces up to three years in jail and a fines of $5 million or more.

In the aisles at Sam's Clubs, shoppers will face rations on Basmati, jasmine and long grain white rice. Wal-Mart, which owns the chain of warehouse stores, says it imposed the limit of four bags per customer because of recent "supply and demand trends."

As a black man it makes me smile when I see a brotha take on the Feds, and for the most part win. Always bet on Black!!!

Wesley didn't win. He lost. As well, it's not really a civil rights issue; as Snipes kept his fortunes for himself. It's not like he played the role of Robin Hood and gave his tax money to the poor. He kept it for his own needs. That makes him just the same as the dreaded 'The Man'.

People have got to be responsible citizens and pay their taxes, so I can get my SSDI and buy cds, chocolate soy milk, popcorn, comicbooks and smoke.... all on your dime, sweat and tears. ha ha ha. :)

@Kris
I hope that as a black man and a black taxpayer you enjoy paying extra green money to the white guys in Washington to cover the tax money your wealthy black brothas are dodging.
