Linkfest: The Cub Scout Mom Who Wasn't

A Pennsylvania mom dressed her seven-year-old son up as a Cub Scout and had him collect money for a phony camping trip. Now she's up for a stint in county prison, with a sentence of six to 23 months.

The tipster thing is eerie, becuase one of Clinton's boffo ideas is to have people do community service to pay off debts. And one of her favorite examples of community service she mentions is entering the police force.

Imagine a future where our economy is collapsing, and our politicians only solution is to use to use both the police and prison industries to salvage what's left. To survive, people turn to narcing, snitching, or stints as bounty hunters, police men, prison guards et cetera. An economy based on fear, and people looking towards each other with suspicion and lust for that big reward.

Did you know that 1/100 people in America are in jail?

Those odds sharply increase if you are a dude. They increase sharper still if you are only partially white, sharper still to those who are of completely other ethnicities. People on the autism spectrum or people with other social/psychological disabilities also have it rough. (So if you want to make some quick cash, now you know what types of people to look for.)
