my experience with "can't win for losin" was from newark, nj....where i worked for a good many years...and that was just one of the great black expressions that i learned...so it would seem to me that it has black roots and may mean it's a no win situation.

Can't win for losing falls to a google search: http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/13/messages/942.html

I'm no videographer, but I think a little glare is more appealing than watching poor Tricia get ink stains on her nose trying to read the rundown.

Tricia, I personally can't really hear when I'm not wearing my glasses. Or speak terribly intelligibly. So I'm impressed.

Sarah,

I can't hear without my glasses either! We must do more lip-reading than we realize. I just watched the video and I look ridiculous squinting and putting the paper 2 inches from my nose!
