Ugh -- I said that Cook won by 19 million votes when Seacrest CLEARLY said he won by 12 million votes. I'm an idiot. Sorry for the mistake everyone. And congratulations David Cook! I was rooting for you all along!!! (Actually, I was rooting for Michael Johns until he was unjustly voted off.)

For my money, the most consistently amusing part of the evening was Amanda Overmyer's general "I am so over this" air, especially when combined with her one vocal solo in the Donna Summer medley, where she yarled her way through the first verse of "Hot Stuff" so tunelessly that I couldn't even recognize the song until the chorus came in. It just reminded me of how thoroughly I disliked that woman.
