Rachel Martin Exits, Adds Pictures

I remember watching this video for the first time, back in December. Rachel Martin and Win Rosenfeld went to Washington, D.C., to make a video report about Goodwill reinventing itself as hip place to buy clothes.

I thought, hey, Rachel Martin looks just like a TV news reporter. And now she's going to be one. Today was her last day as a show host. Rachel's moving on to ABC News. We'll miss her a ton, but it's only natural. Watch the clip and you'll see what I mean.

It's hard to know which is the farm team and which is the big leagues. Personally, I much favor NPR News over ABCNews, but there is a bit of a revolving door!

Too bad, I really enjoyed listening to Rachel on the podcast. It gets me through the afternoons working construction. Good luck with ABC.

Wah!!! Rachel, please don't go!!! What sad news. Well, good luck to you in your new job, if you do half as well there as you did at the BPP, you'll knock everybody's socks off!!

You're leaving big shoes to fill. Whoever will keep Mike Pesca in line? When he runs amok on the airwaves...

I will miss hearing your sing-songy voice every morning. Good luck! I might just start watching ABC.

My whole life was just mere prelude to hearing this girl's sweet sultry voice on the radio. WOE! WOE IS ME!

I saw her pic for the first time. Never knew she was so foxy.

I will certainly miss hearing you every morning Rachel but good luck at ABC and welcome to Washington DC!

Goodbye, Rachel. I'm gonna miss hearing you every morning. You and Alison were a fantastic pair...and you and Mike weren't half bad, either. Good luck with the new job.

The BPP is clearly the launching pad for greatness... and unadulterated awesomeness! High five!

Your farewell this morning hit a personal nerve with me. As I listened to your colleagues serenade you with Neil Diamond, it was obvious that the people you work with enjoy your companionship and will miss having you around. I am also about to leave my job for a better opportunity--although none of my colleagues know it yet--and I can only hope that my last day is as heartfelt as yours. Good luck.

I was worried this would happen when they re-designed the website and your pic disappeared... Good luck at ABC!

Rachael, Rachael, Rachael... We'll miss you in the barley lab at Montana State University. I employ a gaggle of undergrads and I've got them listening to the BPP every day. Heck, if I don't keep the 'radio' tuned to an interesting news show (hence, learning something!), the lab entertainment will be 'oldies' - i.e. 80's music - most of which I was done with in the 80s. Thanks for your quirkiness and wit. ABC is lucky to have you. Best of Luck in the future.

congratulations on the move Rachael! you will definatly be missed.

Sent by Glen Morse | 10:57 AM | 6-28-2008

I had to replay the show's opening three times yesterday to be sure you were really leaving and it wasn't some kind of sick joke. =) Rachel, your cheeriness worked better than caffeine when I hit that post-lunch slump at work. You will be missed, but I know you'll blow them away at ABC. Congrats and good luck!!!

Sent by Kahini | 1:21 PM | 6-28-2008

I will miss you Rachel. Congrats to you and hopefully some 'NPRness' will rub off onto ABC News. They sure could use it!

Rachel, Rachel, Rachel. You will be missed. I loved your perspective. I wish you the best but wish you wouldn't go.
