For the lack of an appropriate place to put this...
Pesca said this was "a penultimate show"...
While the "ultimate" show would be the greatest show...
And the prefix "pen-" means "second to..."
The "penultimate" show would be the second to last show...not, unfortunatly, the second to greatest show...
Am hoping it was a grammatical error and that today wasn't the second to last show...

Penultimate show for Rachel Martin. Today (Friday) was her ultimate show.

I think that the Mayan "Apocalypse" has a great deal to do with Astronomy, the Mayans believed that on December 21st a great solar eclipse will occur. I'm not sure that the Mayans actually believed that the world would end on Dec. 21st 2012. I think it's more likely that Christian Eschatology has hijacked this date as a way to make sense of their theology.
One thing I'm sure of is this is a great excuse to have a party. Dec. 21st is going to come and go and then another date will be named for my next party.
