Comments

Hi there, was just listening to the 'More' segment on this morning's show, and heard someone make the comment that it's forbidden to write the name of Allah (God) on anything. This is not correct - Muslims are allowed to write the name of Allah. Perhaps the speaker was thinking of observant Jews, who avoid writing the name of God.

Dovetailing on Amelia's comment, the confusion is also probably from some modern Muslim's view of the Quran that Mohammed can't be drawn as that would be a graven image. Someone should have told the Moors in the Alhamabra that little bit of good news back in the 15th century, since Muslims there had all kinds of paintings of Mohammed.

On the other topic of the WNBA fight, doesn't the WNBA have the same rule as the NBA regarding players and coaches leaving the bench during on-court incidents? If not, why not, especially since, unlike in the NBA, the coaches for the WNBA can be much bigger than the players and can do real damage to a player and her career?

@Amelia and @Matthew Scallon, thanks so much for the clarification. The perils of live radio is that sometimes you open your mouth and ignorance comes out.
