Now ABC and Charlie Gibson probably don't need the help, but wondered - what question do you want Gibson to ask Gov. Palin?

What is Palin's opinion on global warming?
Actually my question is more for Charles Gibson and A B C Question:did the McCain/Palin Campaign require that A B C submit all questions in advance? I believe that the answer to this question will determine whether this "interview" is a fluff piece or not

You have repeatedly said that you oppose earmarks and opposed the "bridge to nowhere," while these statements are well known to be absolutely untrue. Why should we believe anything you say?
Here is my question for Sarah Palin: How can you support "abstinence only" education when it hasn't worked in your own family? Don't you think that young people deserve to know how to protect themselves from unplanned pregnancy and STDs if they decide to become sexually active?

What's your assessment of the current situation in Darfur? What are the chief obstacles to creation of a Palestinian state? In retrospect, why do you think we invaded Iraq and was it sound foreign policy? Does Chapter 11 of NAFTA give foreign corporations undue influence over US government policy? Does its structure undercut principles of federalism? What causes AIDS?
In short, I'd love to see him ask anything even vaguely complex that isn't on the list 10 obvious issues for which she will have crammed. And yes I'm certain she received the Qs on advance.
Considering that in Sarah Palin's two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in earmarks, how does she justify her harsh criticism of Senator Obama's record of earmark requests?
What is Gov.Palvin veiw on censorship.What gudelines if any would she employ. The next question would be what would be the difference between your stance on censorship and China's censorship polices.

When you say "I told the Congress 'thanks, but no thanks,' for that Bridge to Nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, we'd build it ourselves." aren't you deceiving the public by not also telling them you kept the money for the bridge?
Besides drilling in the ANWR, what additional solutions would a McCain/Palin led government implement to solve for our oil addiction with cars as well as other petroleum-dependent areas such as plastics, pharmaceuticals and aviation.
CNN's Bernard Shaw opened the 2nd 1988 presidential debate with this question to Michael Dukakis: "Governor, if Kitty Dukakis were raped and murdered, would you favor an irrevocable death penalty for the killer?"
It seems that most people do not know that Sarah Palin has said that abortion should be illegal even in cases of rape or incest, or that Alaska has by far the highest rate of rape in the nation. So, just as the policy question to Gov Dukakis was framed in a very personal way, perhaps Charlie Gibson should ask this: "Gov Palin, if your 14 year old daughter were raped, would you favor making it illegal for her to get an abortion?"
Did you ever support the bridge to nowhere. If so, at what point did you decide to no longer support it?
Governor Palin, is it true that you favor the teaching of creationism in the public schools? If so, how can you justify this?

By some scientific measures, we are currently experiencing the largest mass extinction in the history of the planet. How do you plan on curbing global emissions of man made greenhouse gasses? Would you support a cap and trade system? How do you plan to encourage the 3rd world to continue their economic growth, and protect their interests while reducing emissions? What do you see as the United States' role in preventing catastrophic global warming?
Since Alaska has the highest rape rate in our nation (almost 3 times the national average), if Gov. Palin's 14-year-old daughter were raped and became impregnated as a result, would Gov. Palin support her choice to have an abortion?
How are we going to pay for the war...Fannie and Freddie...all of our debt if we continue to keep taxes low or eliminate them in some areas, i.e. AMT? Lower taxes certainly haven't eliminated the debt during Bush's term. If you're going to keep the troops in Iraq and now Afganistan, you'll be spending just as Bush. Where will the money come from to pay all for this?
People in the capital city were wearing "Where is Sarah?" buttons during the last legislative session. Since Sarah Palin does not reside in the governor's house in Juneau, will she keep her family (and her focus) in Wasilla if elected Vice President rather than in Washington DC where she might have an opportunity to be immersed in the national and international policy meetings and discussions that might actually prepare her to fill the role of a world leader?

"Obama hasn't asked for any earmarks this year. Last year, he asked for $311 million worth, about $25 for every Illinois resident. Alaska asked this year for earmarks totaling $198 million, about $295 for every Alaska citizen.
Palin has cut back on pork project requests but, under her administration, Alaska is still and by far the largest per-capita consumer of federal pet-project spending."

How, as a woman, can Sarah Palin stand beside and support John McCain after his comments on equal pay for women and why he didn't support the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, saying that women just need more training and education? Does she agree with this?

Oh, and a bonus for Gibson: WIll you ask her if her husband, a longtime member of a groups advocating Alaskan secession, loves America as much as she does?
Governor, what is the going rate for an overnight stay at your home? Do you really charge your state travel expense account when you stay overnight in your own house?

It's been reported that you attended five schools in six years before receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho in Journalism. Is this true, and if so, why did you attend so many different schools?

Governor Palin:
I find it rather freaky that your church (or former church, since you have changed churches)speaks in tongues and magical healings. Do you speak in tongues, and how would it affect your ability to govern as President over those of us who fear you might try to help Armageddeon along a bit?
1. Gov. Palin, news reports indicate that you are undergoing intensive foreign policy tutelage from Senator Joe Lieberman and senior members of the McCain team, including Randy Scheunemann and Stephen Biegun. Lieberman and Scheunemann are known for their ties to the neoconservatives who promoted the invasion of Iraq. Biegun last worked on George W. Bush's National Security Council. Given your lack of foreign policy expertise, how confident can we be -- and how confident are you -- that you are being briefed by a sufficiently broad range of people? Is the McCain campaign reaching out to include, as briefers, prominent Republicans who disagree with the neoconservatives and the Bush White House? People like Brent Scowcroft and Colin Powell, for example? Are you insisting on a broad range of briefers? If the range of advice that you are getting is narrow, how would you know?
2. You recently stated in a church appearance that the war in Iraq is "a task from God." Imagine that you have been thrust into the presidency, and that you have to decide whether to launch a new military action. If you were to determine, in your prayers, that this new military action also qualified as "a task from God," how much confidence should the American people have that you would carefully consider all earthly counter-arguments -- including any warnings by U.S. intelligence that war was the least defensible option?
3. One follow-up on Iraq. In Bob Woodward's new book, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says about Iraq, "There are a lot of things if I could go back and do them differently, I would." Do you agree with Secretary Rice? If so, since you have been vetted by Senator McCain as being ready to assume the presidency, will you share with us three or four specific things that you wish had been done differently in Iraq? For instance, in terms of execution, what would you have done differently with respect to the Sunnis and the Shiites? Can you explain to us the difference between the Sunnis and the Shiites?
4. Following up on the simple question that Campbell Brown of CNN tried to ask last week -- she posed this question to a McCain aide, who ruled it out of bounds -- can you give us an example of a command that you have given to the Alaska National Guard? Something specific that sheds light on your readiness to be commander-in-chief of the United States? And could you please comment on last week's press reports that the Alaska National Guard, during your tenure as governor, has been plagued by personnel shortages that make its aviation units the most poorly staffed in America? How do you respond to the fact that the Alaska Guard's top officer warned in a memo, earlier this year, that the lack of qualified airmen "has reached a crisis level"? How do these developments square with Senator McCain's claim that your command of the Guard constitutes national security experience?
5. Governor, you are currently the target of an ethics probe in Alaska. It was authorized by a bipartisan decision of the legislature. You are accused in some quarters of abusing your power, that you fired the state police commissioner because he allegedly dragged his feet on dumping one of his troopers, your ex-brother-in-law. The details may be too murky for many voters, but what's most interesting is that at first you promised to cooperate fully with the investigation -- only to renege on that promise. Now you're saying that you will only provide testimony if the legislature stops its own probe and transfers jurisdiction to the state Personnel Board -- whose three members are appointed by the governor. If you have nothing to hide, why are you trying to game the process? And isn't there a risk that your stance in Alaska might remind some voters of the Bush administration's general refusal to cooperate fully with congressional oversight investigators?
6. Governor, you will soon become a grandmother, congratulations. You have praised your daughter for her decision to have the baby and keep the baby. You emphasize that this was her choice. But there are tens of millions of voters who would like to have a far broader range of choices. How do you intend to persuade Hillary Clinton's voters that all women should be denied the choice of abortion, even in cases of rape or incest? Isn't your position antithetical to what Hillary Clinton has fought for since the ruling of Roe v. Wade?
7. Governor, you keep telling audiences that you told Congress, "Thanks, but no thanks" on the boondoggle Bridge to Nowhere -- whereas in reality, of course, you campaigned for that bridge project in 2006 and abandoned it only when it became a national embarrassment. How do you square your current remarks with your previous remarks praising the work of Alaska's Republican delegation in obtaining the federally-earmarked funds? And how do you square Senator McCain's promise to veto all earmarked projects with the fact that Alaska depends heavily on federal earmarks, and that Alaska is currently seeking projects totaling well in excess of $100 million? And how can you present yourself as an anti-earmark "maverick," when your own representative in Washington, John Katz, recently defended earmarks in an op-ed piece, calling them "a legitimate exercise of Congress' constitutional power to amend the budget"?
8. Governor, you and your husband in the past have attended conventions of the Alaska Independence Party. This year, you videotaped a message of greeting for the AIP's 2008 convention, urging members to "keep up the good work." Yet the AIP for decades has endorsed the idea of giving Alaskans the option to secede from the United States. Why have you failed to denounce a group whose message contradicts Senator McCain's slogan "Country First"? And why do you continue to associate with a group whose founder, Joe Vogler, declared that "the fires of hell are glaciers compared to my hate for the American government" and declared that "I've got no use for America or her damned institutions"? Governor, why haven't you renounced this man, the way that Senator Obama has renounced Jeremiah Wright?
9. And forgive me, governor, but I can't resist this one. The entire state of Alaska has 670,000 people. Montgomery County, a suburban county outside Philadelphia, has 775,000 people. The Montgomery County commissioners deal with issues of sprawl and land use and environment versus economic development, just as you do, except they don't run huge budget surpluses every year, like you do -- with 86 percent of your tax revenue coming from the oil industry. Therefore, given the fact that the Montgomery commissioners have more constituents than you do, tougher budget tradeoffs than you have, and given the fact that they have roughly the same national security expertise as you do, aren't they just as qualified as you to be vice president of the United States?
Give me a break.......do you think Gibson is actually going to ask the tough questions that need to be asked? I wouldn't waste my time watching it.
Why did you vote against outlawing shooting wolves from airplanes - when clearly this type of activity is outright killing and not hunting for food or even for sport. It's not a fair fight. You yourself participate in such activities. How do you justify killing wildlife and being against protecting endangered species like the polar bear?
What is the role of the Vice President, as defined in the Constitution? What qualifications do you have to support that role?
What is the role of the Executive branch of the federal government, as defined in the Constitution? Discuss Executive Privilege and the Line-Item Veto, and their Constitutional basis.
Governor Palin: When you were Mayor of Wassilla, you inquired about how to go about banning books from the Wassilla Public Library. Which books did you want to ban?

Your famous quote of "thanks, but no thanks" regarding the Bridge to Nowhere cleverly disguises your flip-flopping on the issue because first you said "Thanks" and thought it was a good idea. Then later you said "No Thanks"!! Is it true you kept the money?

there is much new evidence that hemp oil can be used as a treatment and even cure many cancers. As VP what will you do to help make this life saving treatment available to the people who are suffering and dying?
What does Gov. Palin think about the legality, under international law, of US Government's current assassination programs in Iraq, Afghanistan and possibly Pakistan?
What programs would you support for young mothers and their children, AFTER delivery to insure that we give them the support that is desperately needed for their lives, including health care, financial support, day care and informational services about parenting. While it is worthwhile to offer emotional support during pregnancy, the real test is after the birth, especially the teens who do not have families that are able or willing to offer ANY support.
What are your opinions on secessionism? I have heard reporting that you and your husband support Alaska seceding from the Union. Is this true? And if it is true why do you feel that you can do a satisfactory job as V.P.?

I would like her to address the reports of her approaching the school librarian and asking about the "removal" of certain books. What books were they? Why did she want them removed? Does she believe that this was an infringement on the First Ammendment? If not, how does she define "censorship" and where does she draw the line?
Just please dont waste questions on hunting moose, frameless glasses, pantsuits or any other stupid topic that has no bearing on the country or the world's future. The media has let us down enough.
What is the Governor's position on reparations for African-Americans? Has she read the book, 'Slavery By Another Name' by Wall Street Journal Bureau Chief Douglas A. Blackmon? What is her position on Affirmative Action? What are the primary issues facing the indigenous people of Alaska, the Inuit?
Governor Palin: please explain and clarify the information that appeared in Time magazine and the Anchorage Daily News, regarding your asking the Wasilla public librarian what her position would be if asked to censor books. What was behind your asking the librarian this? Simple fact-finding of something more concrete? Are you a supporter of intellectual freedom? Do you feel it is the right of citizens to ask that books be taken off the shelves of public libraries if a patron feels they are, in the patrons opinion, offensive?
The Republicans talk a great deal about keeping big government off the people's backs. Does this mean not assisting cities and states in the event of natural disasters, or allowing women to maintain their reproductive rights, particularly in the case of rape, incest, or the endangerment of the mother's life?

Do you speak any languages other than English? Have you ever lived in another country for more than 2 weeks? What is your stance on using public funds to provide vouchers for private schools? If you support vouchers, how would you assure that private schools accept all comers, no matter the academic or economic level of the student, history of behavior problems, or any learning or developmental disablilites? Would private schools who accept vouchers be held to the same standards and restrictions as public schools?
My question to Governor Palin refers to her comment about the "18 million cracks in the glass ceiling." I assume you were not one of those cracks but now have the good fortune to take advantage of the opening. As the mother of four children who knows that it is impossible to "have it all", I'd like to know what you intend to give up in order to effectively and competently step into the role of vice president of the world's only superpower. Please don't pass this off as disrespectful or insulting because I, and most women are well aware that a job and motherhood require balance, and in order to give your all to one consuming responsibility means that other responsibilities will necessarily be handed off to someone else, or ignored.
How can you, or anyone, who is pro-gun call yourself "pro-life?" In particular, hand guns are designed to kill people. Logically, a pro-gun stance is a pro-killing position. You and those of similar belief should just call yourselves anti-abortion, which is a more appropriate term, especially for those who endorse possession of devices designed specifically to kill other (already born) human beings. Please explain logically (not emotionally) why are you anti-abortion in all cases/situations?
I want to ask Ms. Palin when will gas prices go down as a result of more drilling? She and McCain are giving the false impression that all we need to do is start drilling everywhere and gas prices will fall tomorrow.
Re: Childcare. Who took care of your children when you were Mayor of Wasilla/Governor of Alaska and your husband was working on the North Slope oil fields/as a commercial fisherman? If you employed childcare help, can you document that you paid their Social Security taxes? What are your views on childcare for working families?
I want to know how Gov. Palin feels about the Patriot Act. If it was coming up for another extention, would she push to have it extended as is or would she make some changes?
How is being able to field dress a moose make her capable of being vice president of the United States? According to Fred Thompson being able to do this will make her a great VP. And also remind Charlie Gibson that when the Republican ticket says change is on the way and things are not going well after the last eight years that the Republican Party has been in charge all that time. Our national infrastructure is in terrible shape. What are they going to do about that? Nobody is addressing the terrible shape of our Air Traffic Control system. And the list goes on ....
In regards to the controversy you were involved in regarding the firing of a librarian in your home town of Wasilla, what books specifically were at issue for you? How do you feel about censorship?
Since Gov. Palin increased taxes on Oil & Gas Companies to help send funds to all residents of her state to help with increased energy cost, would she be in favor of a US Gov windfall profits tax to help US Senior and low income citizens with increasing cost.
I would like to ask Palin if her religious beliefs would prevent her from supporting the AIDS prevention programs in Africa which do not focus solely upon abstinence but also upon the use of condoms and other safe sex measures and programs.
Can Ms. Palin tell us how the prophetic message delivered by her Pastor about God's judgement on America, "God is gonna strike out his hand against America" is any different from the Rev. Wright's message "God damn America". Thank you.

Did you ask for your children's approval/blessing before choosing to run for VP? If so, what was their response and did you explain to them that their lives would be scrutinized by millions of Americans regardless of how much you strive to protect them? How do you and your family cope with the criticisms and prying eyes of the media and individuals that make it impossible for your children to live "private" lives?
How has Gov. Palin dealt with issues of illegal aliens in Alaska? How would she propose this be dealt with at the Federal level?
Considering Gov. Palin's opinions on creationism and abstinence-only education, how does she propose that the US advance scientifically if unscientific theories are taught in schools?

Palin staunchly supports opening up off-shore drilling for American energy independence. But the argument implies that any oil production would go directly to the US markets. Would she support a policy that dictated any new oil production from American shores be sold ONLY to the US market, and not sold on the global market? It seems demand from countries like China and others would minimize any net impact of increased US domestic oil production. I agree with Sandra. Gibson won't ask the tough questions and we will NOT get the answers we want and need to know as voters. McCain campaign is now sheltering Palin from the media so they can control the message. Rick Davis said she will only be allowed to do interviews with the media if they agree to treat her with "deference"(reverence, awe),seems at odds with the 'tough gal' notion. One must ask, what are they trying to hide? In reality, they are buying time since Governor Palin is so unfamiliar with the details of all the issues at stake in this election and so foreign to foreign affairs she likely can't even pronounce the names of most world rulers and countries and would embarrass herself on media interviews. Former foreign policy advisors Zbigniew Brzezinski and Brent Scowcroft were both guests on the Diane Rehm's show and they both expressed concern about Governor Palin's complete lack of foreign experience. The campaign is giving her a crash course in the company line, how convenient, she's a blank slate they can write their agenda on then present it to the public, like a puppet show. I find it outrageous that so far, they have been successful in their overt manipulation by claiming media bias. Don't be fooled it's a ploy, they are making her a victim because people have sympathy for victims. She's a 'tough gal' and 'a victim', they are hoping to cover all their bases in the sentiments of the electorate.
Much of this probing is McCain's fault, he picked a complete unknown to the majority of American voters with a host of personal problems then he expects us NOT to ask questions -Palin and McCain should have anticipated the intense media scrutiny. As I remember the Republicans and the media made sure we knew every detail of Bill Clinton's sex life before and after the election and I didn't hear John McCain and Republicans complaining then. As a voter who has no direct access to the candidates I depend on the media to ask the tough, probing questions I want answered, and in fact they have the right and DUTY to do so, our very Democracy depends on a free press. Obama has gone through the same scrutiny for 19 months. Obama's pastor issue was a personal matter and the McCain campaign and all Republicans piled on during this time unlike Obama who is admirably avoiding any disparaging remarks about Palin's personal problems while the right wing blogs, right wing radio, FOX news and John McCains commercials continue even today to malign him and his wife with lies and innuendos. Their claim of media bias is just a ploy to buy time to prepare their unqualified candidate.

I am extremely disturbed when I hear Governor Palin and the conservatives mock the press and decry their attempts to ask questions that will give Americans the information we need to make informed decisions. It's even more disheartening to hear that many women are telling the press to "lay off Palin". As a candidate for the next highest office in the land, do you believe it's appropriate that you, as a woman, do not have to answer probative questions about your political and social beliefs and your record as a public servant? Questions such as where you stand on sex education for minors, abuses of power, earmarks, the equal rights amendment, and if God loves his creations, why would he take sides in conflicts?
As I've heard several times Ms. Palin say she says thanks but no thanks on the bridge ,Alaska would build itself if they wanted one, they did however say yes to the money for said bridge, how was it spent?
How is she going to balance a young family with 4 children still at home, now she has the support of her family in Washington things will be different? This is not a sexist comment but a working mothers question?
Also I've read numberous accounts that you really depend on your husband Todd for political opinions and input? What role will he play in your VP position?
Lastly, VP Cheney seems to be out of the public eye, if you are elected what message would you send to the world?

As a Ketchikan resident, I am offended by Sarah Palin's repeated references to the bridge as a 'bridge to nowhere'. The island the bridge would access contains a regional airport that serves commercial, freight & medivac flights, the only land available for our economic development, and was chosen as the airport sight with the understanding a bridge would be forthcoming. She came here & told us she supported our need for improved airport access then took away the money after roads were built to accommodate the new access. If as governor, she sacrificed our region of our state for her national political gain, how as VP can she be trusted to work for all small communities in the US without discrimination?

As a parent of young children, one of whom has special needs and one of whom is expecting her own baby, is seems an inopportune time to accept a new, very demanding position so far away from your extended family, especially when there were so many other potential VP candidates. Do you feel that you are being fair to your family by accepting this nomination at this stage in your life?
My Honest Question to Sarah Palin is this: Does she honestly feel that she even remotely qualifies for this very important position? Would she want someone who had taken a CPR course to perform open-heart surgery on her children? She needs to have her head examined. So does McCain.

How would you advise teachers who are struggling in inner city schools to educate young people who have little or no hope for their futures.
Have you ever visited an inner city school or the "poor" part of a city that may have more people than your whole state of Alaska.
There are two contrasting ways to make public policy:
One way uses the best available scientific evidence and most academically rigorous analyses of this evidence to make a tough decision. If faith factors in, it is to pray to God that the decision was the right one.
The other way ignores scientific evidence and instead used a particular set of religious beliefs, ideological principles, and business interests to create policy.
Gov. Palin, when it comes to such policy questions as human papilloma virus immunizations, reducing rates of teenage pregnancy, allowing the Centers for Disease Control to give accurate information about abortions, and global climate change, will you rely more upon what science shows is effective, or more upon your pre-existing core religious and ideological beliefs?
Do the Chechens want independence from the Russians? How about the Circassians, the Kabardino-Balkarians, and the North Ossetians?
Is there a good reason why nations would want an alternate proxy to buy Central Asian energy from than the Russians?
How will you handle your role and responsibilities as a wife and mother of minor children and a special needs son with your responsibilities first, as a campaigner for John McCain and then possibly, vice president of the United States?
As an ASK resident I know that Gov. Palin needs to clear somethings up. She did not cut state taxes. We do not pay state taxes. She did not give a tax rebate, the legislature decided to give a one-time lump sum for energy assistance this year. It will combined with the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend so every registered man woman and child will get a check for over $3200.
Even this is deceiving. I live in Fairbanks. It is the first major town along the pipeline, yet we have the highest energy costs in the nation because of a monopoly with the local refinery. They charge a price that will just beat the cost of exporting the crude to WA state, refining it, and shipping to Fairbanks. Even Anchorage and Wasilla have lover fuel cost than us and they get there gas and fuel oil from us.
Home heating cost are lower in Anchorage because they have access to natural gas. Yet they too will receive the $1200 in energy assistance. Gov. Palin is an agile politician who was in the right place at the right time. The state is awash in mony and she has actually raised state spending.
She got elected running on the anyone but Murkowski platform. She did work to increase the states share of taxes from oil exports, but Don Young and Ted Stevens, our two knights of corruption are riding her national coattails and may be re-elected. So much for the Bridge to Nowhere and Veco.
My question is where are the hard probing questions that news people should be asking? She will smile brightly with a red power suit and her hair in a bun talking about motherhood and hockey. Get off her topic and get on to the nations. What about policy, what about direction? It is easy to cut down the other guy. What is she going to do assuming she has found out what the V.P. does?

Why do you assume that a loving Jesus would bless your marriage to a man and not mine?
How's that abstanence-only sex education working out for you?
Will you vote for Ted Stevens?
How is our country to make strides in new energy technology and become a leader in science if our vice president doesn't "believe" in factual science?

Gov. Palin, you knew ahead of time and decided to not abort but keep your handicapped son. Do you not believe all women deserve the right to make this difficult decision, or rather do you believe women and families should not be allowed to decide this for themselves? Can you explain how Major General Campbell was elevated within the past week to a three-star Lieutenant General after completely switching his statements on your involvement (originally, last week describing your involvement as very limited to now, within the past couple days, describing your involvement as much more crucial) with the AK National Guard?
Do you think it's ethical for a candidate to lie, stretch the truth, alter the story, maybe even tell the truth, etc..., and only if what was said is substantiated as such---fact or fiction---get away with it? How would you suggest candidates be held accountable for what they say?

Independence from foreign oil is a major issue at this juncture. Alternatives such as ethanol productiona, natural gas, wind and solar power are the alternatives being promoted. Why then did John McCain and the RNC pass a platform item calling for the repeal of the Renewable Fuel Standard. Ethanol production has been blamed for rising food costs without considering that gas and diesel are being used to plant, harvest, transport to graineries, transport to packing plants, transport to warehouse/distributors, transport to grocery stores and finally the consumer traveling to pick up the finished product. I think this has a lot more to do with the shelf price of goods than the ethanol production which is keeping more American money in the U.S. than to foreign oil producers.
1. Why did you think that censoring books in the Wasilla Public Library was a good idea? You apparently felt strongly about this issue because you attempted to fire the librarian who refused your request.

Why would Gov. Palin say she is working for special needs children and families when she has consistently cut funding to any special education programs by at least 62%?

While we do not know much about how Sarah Palin governs, there are telling anecdotes in her personal life that speak to her decision making ability.
Sarah Palin flew on a commercial airline while in active labor without telling the flight crew. If an emergency landing were necessary, her self serving action would have affected the schedules of all passengers on board.
People magazine reports that she did not tell her children that their new baby brother was going to be born with Down Syndrome. Once the child was born and her daughter immediately noticed it, she asked 'why didn't you tell us?' Although she admits that she needed several months to digest the information, her children were given no time to do so.
The NY Times reported that Palin's children did not even know that she had been selected as the VP candidate until after she had accepted the position. She placed her children in the glaring national media spotlight without their consent.

I am a mother with two daughters and I have read that you indicated that if your 14 year old daughter (or, someone else's 14 year old daughter) were raped that you would not allow her to have an abortion. If that is true, how can you justify putting a child that you love through a pregnancy that she has no choice in at the detriment to her health, her emotional wellness, and possibly even her life. If I were a 14 year old girl in that situation, it would seem as if that I was nothing more than a "vessel" for an unborn child, and that my life was of no value to you. As a mother, I find that statement reprehensible on so many levels.

If you are for privatization, in the future, should we encounter another mortgage/financial crisis such as we are in today, would a McCain/Palin administration assist, as with Bear Stearns, or take a more laissez faire approach? Can you provide specific examples of public policy you could reach compromises on with Democrats while at the same time meeting your pledge to change Washington?
2) Governor Palin, the roots of our current financial and housing crisis lies in the failure of financial institutions to be adequately supervised. It is clear that self-supervision failed on a grand scale. This is only the most recent and perhaps egregious example of how Republican laissez-faire economic policies have lead to massive taxpayer bailouts. Describe for us how you would prevent this from ever occurring again?
3) Governor Palin, the United States spends more per capita on health care than any other nation in the world. Yet the United States ranks 47th in life expectancy and 43rd in child mortality. Why is this? Can you tell us how in general terms a health care dollar is distributed? How much goes to hospitals, how much to doctors, nurses and other health care professionals? How much is consumed in drug therapy? How much in administrative costs and distributed insurance company profits? How might this change in your administration?

Voters are confused about reforms. Is telling a lie that you are against it ---- is a reform? Telling a lie, is not a reform nor telling a lie half way and leaving for the voters to hear the full lie is worse than hearing it from the candidate. Why is Sara Palin shying away from the media and going together with John MCain?
Can someone sit one on one and clear the voter confusion. Can John go on his own to do his campaign. It looks like Sara is claiming John as her running mate. I have two:
1. The current administration has consistently hidden, denied, or re-shaped scientific findings when they do not fit its beliefs or agendas. This has had and will have serious negative consequences on the environment, our economy, science and technological education and research, to name a few. Any more of this and there could be irreversible consequences for the US and the world. This has also led to a general mistrust of science in our culture. Will she continue these practices? Will she pledge right now to keep politics out of science?
2. The Republican Party's new slogan is "Country First." On 9/8, CNN broadcast a program looking into the two churches Palin has been associated with. The church she presently attends hosted a speaker from the ridiculously named organization, Jews for Jesus. It was a blatantly anti-semitic rant that Palin attended. When the interviewer ask the minister if he would invite the speaker again, without hesitation, he said yes. Obama has since denounced his minister for hate filled speeches and left that church. I'd like to know what U.S. taxpayer dollars were spent on in the great State of Alaska, when that kind of money might better have been used in one of our more economically stressed states in the northeast.
Governor Palin, if God wills Alaska to have a nice big pipeline, did God also will the destruction of New Orleans? If so, why is God kinder to Alaska than Louisiana? And by what means does God brief you on his / her will in matters of construction, war, politics, and governance?
Earlier this year, you sent a video message to the AIP, supporting their efforts. At that same meeting George Clark has been videotaped saying that you were an AIP member before you were a republican. It is very easy to see the positive economic and environmental effects of using renewable energy sources by visiting certain Northern European countries (Germany, Denmark, Netherlands). Please ask Mr. Gibson to get more specific about Gov. Palin's contradiction with her alleged "thanks but no thanks" position on the Bridge to Nowhere connecting Ketchikan with Gravina Island. So far, much of the irony has been lost.
It's not merely about the hypocrisy of her saying she opposed construction of this bridge, when she clearly did not.
Or that she also simultaneously favored building a twin Bridge to Nowhere made of vast sums of federal pork; this one being the even more expensive Knik Arm Bridge connecting Anchorage to the valley where here hometown Wasilla is located.
Or that Gov. Palin hired a lobbyist as mayor of Wasilla to keep getting tens of millions of "free" money for her constituents from federal taxpayers, including money for an ice rink that is operating in the red.
Or that she sought the pork by developing close ties to Senator Ted Stevens, who has been brought up on corruption charges and yet whose candidacy she endorsed last summer.
What would be fascinating for Gov. Palin to respond to is this fact: Even after she allegedly said no to the Bridge to Nowhere, she still kept the quarter billion dollars that came with the Congressional earmark, courtesy of Stevens and his colleague, Alaska Congressman Don Young who is also facing a criminal investigation on corruption. And she is using the money vaguely for "other things". If giving away earmarks is bad, bad, bad, as she and McCain say, then even worse is taking $225 million, in a a time of a deep federal deficit, when you don't even know what you're going to do with it. How does the maverick reformer justify that?
Question for Sarah Palin: is it true that you believe a woman who is raped should be forced to bear the rapist's child?
Since you once participated in a church that believes in "speaking in tongues", do you still believe this?

As you may be aware, the price of energy in recent months has been at record highs. In your speech to the Republican National Convention you said "the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all." My question is how much drilling will be required and for how long to bring gas prices back to let's say around $2.00 per gallon and once supply reaches that point how long can pumping be expected to continue in order to maintain that price?
How is Governor Palin doing justice to Alaskans when she nationally contradicts her in-state policies. Specifically, the "thanks but no thanks" about the Bridge to Nowhere that she was in favor of, and now is building the Road to Nowhere that would access the non-existent bridge. And he turning down earmarks when we all know up here that she endorsed and pursued them as Mayor and Governor. If she is the first elected to high office from our state of Alaska, she should do it honorably.

Mr. Bush uses the word freedom frequently in his speeches. I wonder what he means by this word since he has frequently tried to jail people without any charges being filed and he has kept them imprisoned for years. Several of these people have gained relief by filing suit and having their right of Habeas Corpus by the Supreme Court. Justices Thomas and Scalia dissented from the majority of the court. Mr. McCain says that he will appoint judges like Thomas and Scalia. The above raises several questions. Does "Freedom" mean the same thing to you as it does to Mr. Bush, that is the President has the power to throw people in jail by executive order? You claim that you will be an advocate for "special needs" children. You only had your "special needs" child less than a year ago, and now you are ready to spend even less time with the child, in order to take on the responsibilities of Vice President.
You claim to be a good mother, but I can't imagine putting my family in the spotlight as you have done, especially with a 17-year old unmarried pregnant daughter. I am not bringing up the pregnant daughter just because you are a female ("mother" instead of "father"), I am bringing it up because it seems your family really needs you right now, and I can't imagine you being able to devote enough time and energy to them.
Pre-marital sex is such a big topic, and you personally have advocated "abstinence-only" education, so I do believe that we are justified in bringing up the issue of truly educating our children so that they can prevent unplanned (if it was in fact unplanned?) pregnancies that can happen at very inopportune times.

She always talks about her "responsibilties" as opposed to Obama's community organizing. What does she have to say about during her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator.
What about her fiscal responsibility? I understand that during her 6
years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over
33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the
City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation
(1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a
regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she
promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they
benefited residents.
And lastly,what about Ms. Palin's judgement and foresight? How about the $15m-plus for construction of a multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of property that the City didn't even have clear title to, that was still in litigation 7 yrs later--to the delight of the lawyers involved! The sports complex itself is a nice addition to the community but a huge money pit, not the profit-generator she claimed it would be.
I think somebody better do some further digging about Ms. Pitbull with lipstick before all of us are digging ditches to keep the lights on.

Sarah Palin's religious rhetoric has managed to both rankle progressives and thrill conservatives. While Palin's nomination may have seemed foolish based on her lack of experience, George Lakoff at Tikkun articulates why McCain's choice is a shrewdly political move that--in a cultural climate that places family values ahead of issues or experience--will appease culturally conservative voters.
"Our national political dialogue is fundamentally metaphorical, with family values at the center of our discourse," Lakoff writes. "The Republican strength has been mostly symbolic. The McCain campaign is well aware of how Reagan and W won running on character: values, communication, (apparent) authenticity, trust, and identity--not issues and policies. That is how campaigns work, and symbolism is central." In this political climate, where religious style trumps political substance and the "external realities" of a candidate's voting record and job experience are nearly immaterial, Lakoff concludes that Sarah Palin is the perfect choice for VP.
Palin is not, however, the perfect choice for advocates of the separation between church and state--people like Rob Boston of Americans United. "I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," Boston told the Associated Press. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."
On his blog at the Wall of Separation, Boston explains that he is not opposed to a candidate who makes references to God. He is opposed to candidates who would let faith do the governing. Referring to a speech Palin made at her former church in which she stated that the people of Alaska should "get right with God," and that the war in Iraq reflects God's will, Boston chafed at the idea that public officials might hope to mandate the faith of their constituency:
"I don't want the president, governor, or mayor worrying about the state of my soul and whether my neighbors and I are 'right with God.' He or she would do better building the economy, creating jobs and filling potholes. We have great religious freedom in this nation. If any American feels that his or her soul needs a tune-up, there is no shortage of religious leaders willing to help out with that."
Q - Why did you hide your pregnancy (from voters - people who hire you) unti you were 8 months pregnant? Do you suggest all women (or men too) do the same with their bosses and employers? Do you see any problem with it? (ie: if ok for you, why not ok for all America?)

Given your stance on human right to life, could you explain your decision to not only uphold this cruel and abusive practice of slaughtering animals but to further expand it by offering a bounty for this non-subsistence practice. In your campaign for governor, your plan to improve this figure was to offer other vo-tech opportunities for those who do not do well in a standard school system. I'd like to know what your administration could do to force dead beat parents to pay child support. According to a recent story in the Associated Press, more t hat $215.7 million dollars are owed to custodial parents in just five states - if we added in the other 52 states (ha ha ha) - the other FORTY FIVE states, that figure could be in the billions. This is a huge economic strain to parents raising children when the non-custodial parent does not pay his or her fair share of child support payments.
Currently state laws are entirely ineffective in solving this problem or collecting these millions of dollars for us.
I would like to see a centralized federal registry so dead beat parents cannot slip through the cracks or find a loop hole between state lines to avoid payments, as well as harsh and immediate penalties for failure to pay.
Paying child support would be a huge economic stimulious check for parents who are raising children alone.

News reports suggest that the vetting process was a shotgun affair--and it does seem that a lot of surprises are surfacing. How well did team McCain perform one of the major tasks a campaign needs to perform?
Ms. Palin, since you advocate opening up ANWR for oil exploration and increasing exploration for oil off-shore in the Gulf of Mexico as soon as possible, how many years do you estimate it would take between finding oil, extracting it, and transporting it to refineries? Will you advocate building more refineries? If so, where would they be built and how many barrels per day would they produce? What references were used by you do make these determinations on future domestic oil production?
It's illegal for the Governor of Alaska to proffer opinions on ballot initiatives. When you openly opposed an initiative that favored a mining company over the Alaskan Wild Fisheries, you said you wanted to "take my governor's hat off," (or take off my governor's hat--I don't have the quote in front of me--to vote "NO" on the initiative. The "NO" vote favors the mining company. Isn't that a bit like the President of the United States taking off the "President hat." Would you talk and act in such a way as Vice-President?

This has become nothing more than a tabloid circus and it's being crammed down our throats by the very people who should know better and certianly understand what consequences are brought about by a misinformed public. How about trying something different and making this a democracy by the people rather than one of apathy, something we can really weigh in on.
Senator Obama has said how he will reach out to Prolife supporters and talk about way to cut down on abortions. How will you reach out to people that are prochoice?
How do you reconcile the fact that if all of the drilling proposed by your campaign were put into action, that the yield would only bring our oil imports down from around 54% to at best 48%, but more likely around 51%, a mere 3 to 6 percent increase in domestic production? And that you are promoting the illusion of relief at the pump now, when in fact the facilities wouldn't even be able begin producing for another 10 years and not seeing the peak of this incredibly marginal benefit for upwards of 20 years.
All of this while at the extreme cost of the ecological costs of drilling and the vast opportunity cost of not investing that money in the transition to a green fuel infrastructure.

Defenders in Action: Putting Alaska's Aerial Hunting Program On PAWs
Defenders' campaign to save wolves and bears in Alaska from state-sponsored airborne shooting has picked up some key supporters, with more than 110 members of Congress agreeing to back the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act. The act aims to close a loophole in the federal Airborne Hunting Act that Alaska officials have exploited to shoot wolves from planes or to chase them to exhaustion and then land and shoot them. In some areas, hunters also use planes to kill bears.
"An overwhelming expression of grassroots activism was behind Congressional support for this measure," says Robert Dewey, Defenders' vice president of government relations and external affairs. Defenders' activists held dozens of meetings with congressional officials, made thousands of calls and sent more than 100,000 e-mails to members of Congress in support of the legislation. Other conservation groups and former Alaska wildlife officials also joined in the advocacy campaign.
To drive the point home, in January Defenders launched print advertisements in Congress Daily--one of Capitol Hill's most influential newspapers--and The Washington Post's widely read daily Express newspaper. Television commercials supporting the PAW act also ran in the nation's capital during newscasts in January and February. Nine PAW Act ads were also displayed for two weeks in the Capitol Hill subway station, which sees an average of 6,000 commuters each day, including many members of Congress and staffers. "With the help of concerned citizens from coast to coast, the PAW act now enjoys support from more than half the number of members of Congress necessary to pass the measure in the House," says Dewey. "Encouraging early congressional action on this vital measure is a top legislative priority for Defenders."
Nearly 200 scientists from around the country and the world have also voiced their concern over Alaska's airborne-shooting policies. They are calling on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to ensure wildlife management policies are based on sound science rather than on the discretion of the state board of game.

You and John McCain have free health insurance. I have none. It costs me $250 every-other week. I cannot afford it and I make $15.00/hr. How would you and John McCain fix the healthcare system? You and him have not said one word about it. All I keep hearing is the same speech you gave at the RNC. I am not going to vote for McCain or you. I cannot stand your lies and bashing. You are no good for this country.
I would ask Sarah Palin how she reconciles her faith with the political rhetoric she is saying. I would remind her that her faith (well the Christian faith I have) is to love one another and to love your enemies for by doing so you are heaping burning coals on their head. I'd ask her if the Spirit has called to talk in such a way as she has.

Every young person who has risked getting pregnant, by definition has also risked acquiring an STD. No amount of familial love can undo an HIV infection. How can we say we love the nation's young people unless we equip all young people at puberty with the knowledge that condoms combat the transmission of HIV?
In a recent clip from a speech you recently gave in your, previous homechurch, Wasilla Assembly of God, you state, with respect to the war, that we should pray, that the mission our boys are sent on are missions from God.
I assume, you too pray that is so: that the missions our leaders send our troops on are right missions, from God.
Now, focusing on the mission in Iraq: do you beleive your prayers have been answered with respect to that mission? (as in, do you believe, that mission is a right mission, one from God?
In a video clip where you were addressing your church congregation, you seemed to indicate that the war in Iraq is God's will.
1) How is this different than the crusades of early Christianity?
2) How is this different than the Iraqi extremists that are blowing themselves up (along with Americans) for their own religious beliefs?
3) If Jesus was president, would he be for or against the war in Iraq? (in your opinion, obviously)
I am surprised that the media is not more focused on the basic integrity of Gov. Palin. One huge issue is that not only did she lie about her history relating to the bridge to nowhere, but she accepted the money that was appropriated for a boondoggle project.
This speaks to who this woman who proposes to be a devout Christian really is. We Christians have basic tenets, one is to be honest, she is not; one not to steal, she is a thief. She accepted funds that were pretentious, not hers. Then there is recorded evidence of her accepting per-diem for staying in her own house. By several measures, she seems to be more like George Bush than even John McCain, who has shown us by his voting.

WAR TAX?
Our deficit will set a record this year and perhaps next, would you and McCain support a "war tax" to fund Iraq, Afghanistan and make up the $1 trillion cost? The deficits are hurting my 401(k).
