All the wheeling and dealing in Washington isn't doing much to win Americans over on health overhaul.
The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll shows a further decline in approval for the health overhaul and stiffening opposition. Only 44 percent of Americans support health overhaul, compared with 51 percent who are against it.
A month ago, the poll found 48 percent of people supported overhaul and 49 percent were against it.
A separate poll from USA Today/Gallup also shows that health care overhaul fails to draw the support of an American majority. Some 46 percent of American would be in favor of their representative and senators voting for health overhaul. The opposition adds up to 48 percent.
The latest results are a bit more favorable than those from November, when support for an overhaul had slipped to 43 percent. But the numbers are worse now than in September and early October when support cracked 50 percent, Gallup said.
