House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, right, and Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia met with reporters in Washington this morning.
House Minority (not for long) Leader, John Boehner says the GOP is "humbled" by the trust of Americans who voted for Republicans yesterday. In a quick question and answer session with reporters a few minutes ago, Boehner and Republican Whip Eric Cantor said they will follow the clear will of the American people: cut government spending and create jobs. Boehner said Americans are concerned about the government takeover of healthcare; he wants to
"Lay the groundwork before we begin to repeal this monstrosity and replace it with commonsense reforms that will bring down the cost of health insurance in America."
He wouldn't elaborate on any specific steps. Cantor said the Obama administration has failed. Watch this space: Boehner will speak again at 11:30 Eastern, joined by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour, former RNC Chairman.
