Of course, everyone's taking a drubbing in the stock market these days. But once endlessly rich Google employees are really taking it on the chin.
A big fat chunk of employee stock options (1.7 million across the company as of the second quarter ) were granted at the average price of $329. That means the options are "under water" in Wall Street terms. To the rest of us, it means they are worth zip at that price.
This afternoon, the stock is trading below $320.
