A listener/blogger named Michelle checks in with news that her family's credit limits have been extended -- as in, "Here's a longer leash for your credit card." She writes:

These are on two separate individual credit cards by different companies. Now the cynical side of me thinks that these companies are hoping something bad is going to befall us and hope that we use their card.

I'm not going to speculate on any motive besides that of pure profit, but I have noticed several of you saying you've also gotten offers for new credit cards or higher limits on the ones you have. Which might mean business is just going on as usual.
