'Giant Pool Of Money' Named To Decade Top 10 List

The Giant Pool of Money — the hour-long This American Life episode that explained the housing bust and gave rise to Planet Money — was just named one of the top 10 works of U.S. journalism of the past decade.

The list was compiled by NYU's journalism faculty, along with some outside eminences. They said the Giant Pool of Money "finally made the 'subprime' mortgage crisis clear and cogent, and the result was the most downloaded episode in the history of the show."

Congrats to Adam Davidson and Alex Blumberg, who made it happen.
