Folgers, Dunkin' Donuts, and other leading coffee brands just got a 9% price hike courtesy of their parent, the Smucker Co., Reuters reports.
Because Folgers is a trendsetting brand, other big companies like Kraft, which owns Maxwell House, could soon follow. That means the price of caffeine at supermarkets around the country is set to rise.
The company is passing along an increase in arabica coffee futures, which have spiked 35% in the past couple of months.
