Muhammad Yunus, the father of microfinance, has a request: If you're a private, for-profit bank raising money in global capital markets, don't say what you're doing is microfinance.
Vikram Akula, founder of SKS Microfinance — a bank that had an IPO earlier this year — says global capital markets are essential for expanding microfinance to all the people who need it.
