Economists Oppose Cuts For Economists

From talking points published by the Consortium of Social Science Associations as part of an effort to prevent cuts in federal funding for social-science research:

Economists of all people understand the need to take action to deal with the U.S. fiscal challenge. But these amendments might target the social sciences for disproportionate funding reductions and possibly elimination. Economic research has profound value for society and we want to make sure that this is understood by policymakers.
