It almost never rains in the part of the country where your major awards shows are held. How can you tell? In part because you almost never see red-carpet photos with umbrellas in them.
But as we speak, celebrities are making their way down the Golden Globes' red carpet, and they are getting poured on as nature takes her unique vengeance for, I assume, Year One. Today, the most popular job in Hollywood is "celebrity umbrella-wrangler."
Of course, in the right hands, it becomes a downright kicky accessory, as shown by Ginnifer Goodwin.
In other cases, it's all about the accidental illusions created by people unaccustomed to posing around umbrellas. Love your new hair, Mike Tyson!
