• Among this collection of casting notes that emerged yesterday is news that Katherine Heigl has been cast as Stephanie Plum in the first of what could potentially be a bazillion movies based on the Janet Evanovich detective series that starts with One For The Money. I've read a bunch of those books, and I have to say: I don't think so. There is not quite enough goof in Heigl to be Stephanie Plum, it seems to me, though I've been wrong before.
• Google Buzz is the company's new social networking project, and they couldn't have picked a better time to launch it, since Facebook is undergoing one of its many unpopular redesigns.
• Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue is a massive undertaking with some similarities to the Super Bowl as a marketing project, as The Wrap explains.
