I realize that complaining about The Bachelorette (8:00 p.m., ABC) at this point has a strong sense of "I Can't Believe The TV They Make Me Watch." But the thing is: it's even worse than most things you would watch only with toothpicks stuck in your eyes.
You know, when I watched the first episode of Persons Unknown (8:00 p.m., NBC), I sort of thought I liked it. I haven't watched it since. Sometimes the proof is in the pudding.
ABC Family premieres its new show Huge (9:00 p.m.), starring Nikki Blonsky in a tale of weight-loss camp.
The Good Guys (9:00 p.m., Fox) has what sounds like a great gimmick in an episode called "$3.52," in which Dan has to solve a case using only the money in his pocket after his budget is pinched. It's not very realistic, but sometimes, tricksy things are the best kind.
The 9:00 p.m. hour also features a new Last Comic Standing on NBC, as well as the season premiere of Intervention on A&E. You should officially watch neither of these things.
I didn't actually know VH1 had a show called You're Cut Off (9:00 p.m.) until I was on vacation last week, texted NPR's own Stephen Thompson to tell him I was having my hair cut in an unsuitably fancy salon, and was told I was bound to land on You're Cut Off. So basically, the news is: this is a show.
I trust that by now, I have convinced you not to watch True Beauty (10:02 p.m., ABC). If I haven't: don't.
