Look, here's how it shakes out: Craig Ferguson's show is terrific, and Jimmy Fallon's show is terrific, and neither one of them has any interest in "war" of any kind, despite the fact that they're on opposite one another in the late-night 12:30 AM slot on CBS and NBC respectively.

They talk on Twitter, they acknowledge each other on air, and last night, they exchanged Christmas gifts. On Ferguson's show, he opened Fallon's gift, and on Fallon's show, he opened Ferguson's gift. It's genuinely great stuff, and it makes a lot of competitive sniping that goes on in various corners of the entertainment business look mightily silly.

Here's the Ferguson clip.

And here's the Fallon clip, featuring Jimmy not only welcoming Craig's friend "Secretariat," but also doing the same dance Craig does whenever he sees the big lug.

12:30 in the morning continues to be one of my favorite pieces of real estate on television, and the fundamental good nature of what goes on on both of these shows is a big part of the reason. Well done, fellas.
