Leroy's Back Home

Leroy has left the building! (The hospital, that is.) He was discharged today and is embarking on his recuperation at home -- weeks of resting up and healing from the surgery. He is planning to jump right back into the blog, though, and will have a new entry tomorrow. In the meantime, he asked me to pass along his thanks to all of you for your incredible support these last nine days.

Wow-what a fighter! I know that you would rather not hear that you are an inspiration, but I'll say again that it is the spirit of patient's like you, Leroy, who encourage caregivers like myself to keep coming to work everyday, and recognize what's really important in life.
Here's to your improving health! Bless you.

Leroy!!

Welcome back :o)

Home is the best destination.

Terrific news! Hope that you (Leroy) get a much better night's sleep in your own bed!

I have some good news of my own to share. Today, after 18 months of first-line and consolidation therapy with chemo and avastin, my oncologist told me today that I'm a "free woman" -- as my treatments on clinical trial for stage 4 ovarian cancer have concluded. I sooooo have to include thanks to Leroy and this community for being a part of my support system. You've all helped my keep a positive outlook, even when I was tempted to brood. Now I can't imagine a weekday without my "My Cancer" fix.

There's nothing like being home, sleeping in your own bed without any @@***&& machines beeping in your ear.
