Alexis: I've been haunted by your words yesterday. I will not offer you platitudes because I know they seem insincere and really unhelpful for where you are right now. I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it's like to be in that endless black pit with no light visible, it's crushing. I was so angry, blinded by rage. Sometimes it still come in waves and threatens to drown me. Hang on Alexis. I know I'm not the only touched by your pain and reminded personally of the power it has. I'm thinking of you today.
Graham in Sag Harbor: Good Morning America was on the docks near you, looks beautiful where you are, Happy 4th!
Liz & Grace: thank you, very nice of you to say.
Got to go make some pasta salad while I wait for the rain to clear. We're having a house-full today. Peace to you, all my friends, I feel like the day doesn't really begin without all of you.
And a pain free, in love holiday to you Leroy and Laurie!
Love and explosives,
Debra

I'm wishing you "everything" on this day - peaceful, normal, sweet, and common - praying that you have a real holiday from C world. See you next week.
Happy Day to you too, my friend
Dear Leroy, we all care about you and bless you and your family. You inspire us all with your courage and dignity, also your opening up about all a cancer patient and families go through helps many of us realize we are not alone. thank you again. kenny williams
Have a super weekend my friend.
Feast on your quiet time, and the good foods that call your name. Float a while on love...
I hope your holiday is calm, Leroy. We miss our Andrew. He was honest like you which we appreciated. I don't think you have to be so positive about things. Hospice helped Andrew and us the last 7 weeks of his life. His death was not peaceful but we were there. That's all one can do. Try your best to keep your loved one comfortable.
Thanks Leroy, you and Laurie have a good day also. See you Monday.
Happy Fourth of July, Leroy and family!!! Enjoy the fireworks!!! :)
Let's hear it for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!
Happy 4th to you too!!! Thinking of you and wishing you much health and peace.
Happy 4th to you too, Leroy. Hope you had a great holiday. Carol
Hi Leroy. It's Rebecca Corral from the Bay Area. Your cupcakes & cookies story made me remember something. You know Randy, right? His wife Maureen had a brother who became terribly sick, with cancer. When people were coming to visit, they would always ask "Do you need anything? What can I bring?" He would come up with little requests...things clearly intended to make the visitor feel better. He'd ask for a six-pack of the generic brand of Ensure, or a six-pack of beer or something along those modest lines. Maureen doubts he truly "needed" the stuff, but he knew his visitor needed to bring something, to help in some way... so he asked. I didn't know her brother, but I've always known Maureen to be a thoughtful and kind woman. And I've always been impressed by the idea of this man, sick and all, finding ways to give comfort and kindness to the people who came to see him. I just love that story.
So...your eating of the cupcakes and cookies...is actually a kindness!! Yeah, I'm the queen of rationalization.
Love and peace to you, Leroy. xoxox, rc
Leroy, just thinking of you today, hearing your voice in my head. You are a friend though we've never met. I hope the day is beautiful where you are. It's one of thoses amazing summer days here, the kind where you could nap in the grass.
I believe that when a person has been diagnosised with cancer, for that time only, does it become part of you life as you know it. I don't believe that it becomes your life. Just as any situation, you deal with it, but it doesn't become you or your life. You are dealing with it Leroy in the here and now. The rest of your life may not be this way for ever. That's what I believe.
Hope you enjoyed your 4th of July weekend. I look forward to hearing your program.
