The Rev. Jerry Falwell Dies

The Rev. Jerry Falwell, a longtime leader of the Christian right, died today. Falwell, a dynamic leader and organizer, was found without a heartbeat in his office around 10:45 this morning. There is no word yet on who will replace him as the head of Liberty University or of the Moral Majority Coalition.

I beleive that Pastor Falwell knew that he was getting ready for the Lord to call him home. I have this deep feeling, and it is almost a chilly feeling, that Jerry was taken home fairly quickly. He always talked about going to heaven. And praise the Lord I am sure he is there now. Paul stated in the Bible that "to be absent from the body is to present with the lord". It happens that fast. We all miss him however, death of this body is not the end. It is only the beginning! We cry but we must also rejoice, Jerry is where he is finally moved on to where God wants him. Gods grace and will is sufficient through all things, including death! We will see him again, you can depend on that!
