Hillary Clinton Wins Florida Handily

NPR has called the Florida Democratic primary for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton. She currently has 49 percent of the vote. Illinois Sen. Barack Obama is in second with 30 percent.

There are no delegates at stake currently. The Democratic National Committee stripped Florida of its delegates when it moved its primary to January. None of the candidates campaigned in Florida. Sen. Clinton has said she will fight to get the delegates eventually seated at the convention.

I am listening to the Florida Primaries report with Robert Siegel on NPR (WLRN Miami). His guests just said that nothing happened in Florida on the Democratic side. I wonder if going to the library twice, even on a rainy day, to vote early, can be considered as "nothing." Perhaps it means nothing to them, but it is my vote and it is important to me. And as an American I am proud of it - no matter if the party or the guests attempt to ignore us.

I'm sorry, but if this doesn't count then why is NPR making such a big deal about it? Robert Siegel could not stop talking about Clinton during the Special Coverage portion of ATC.

And, am I surprised the Clinton machine would try to go AGAINST their pledge to forgo Florida's delegates in keeping with the DNC's rules? Uh, no.

Team Clinton will say and do anything to get elected. Even if that means taking the Democratic Party down with them. Their brand of politics is exactly what we don't need right now after 7+ years of GWB.

Whomever cavalierly dismisses 2.5 million voters in then Florida primary, is capable of not being able to find the nose on their face.Go Hillary!

856,944 votes, Wow that is more votes than Republicans!

Florida is a diverse state that is more reflective of the demographics of the entire US. Hillary's win is a snapshot for Tuesday, I think this OBAMA hype is media generated and devisive.

Why is no one talking about how Hillary is sort of "cheating" here. You can't complain that the score doesn't count after the the game is over. If she wanted those votes to count then she should have done something about it before the Florida vote--and allowed for an even playing field. I hate to sound like a child myself, but she's not playing fair!
