Sen. Barack Obama Projected Winner of Wisconsin

NPR projects that Sen. Barack Obama will win the Democratic primary in Wisconsin.

Exit polls showed Obama taking way Clinton's support among white voters and men, and he tied Clinton among white women, Clinton's main group. Only white women older then 50 stayed with Clinton. Obama also won 6 in 10 self-described independents (who were allowed to vote in their choice of primaries in the election), while he tied Clinton among Democrats.

It looks like the Midwest might matter again. I love alliteration. This is why Michigan deserves another chance.

The information we are receiving about Senator Obama's growing appeal among people in demographic groups said just weeks ago to belong to Senator Clinton demonstrates the strength and substance of his message. Recent criticisms of Obama supporters -- particularly in the New York Times (consider the cynical pieces by Krugman, Fish, and Brooks lately) -- as motivated by irrational emotions or cultish devotions will ultimately, I think, be proven wrong. It's been a while since we've had a candidate who not only shares our political priorities but who, it seems evident, is trustworthy and genuine.

I am 24 years old and have never been motivated to participate in politics until this year. I can personally thank Senator Obama for giving me a reason to listen to candidates, get to know their policies, study their records and then go out and vote like a good citizen.

I, too, have never felt more proud to be an American than right now. If only because I've never felt so significant to my country.
