National Archives To Release Clinton's Records

The National Archives will release Sen. Hillary Clinton's records as First Lady during her husband's presidency. Reuters reports that the move comes "in response to a lawsuit by Judicial Watch, a conservative legal watchdog group."

"The records, some 11,000 pages in all, document nearly all of the meetings, trips, speaking engagements and social activities Clinton engaged in while her husband, Bill Clinton, served as president between 1993 and 2001, the National Archives said."

The records will contain details about Clinton's failed effort to overhaul the nation's health-care system and her travel to over 80 countries. The records, which are kept at the Clinton presidential library in Little Rock, Arkansas, will be released on Wednesday.

She's clearly been muzzled on health care by her corporate backers since then, but conservative special interest groups will no doubt manage to use Clinton's past sincere efforts against her anyway. Because pretty much any Republican will have more heart for misleading sound bites on how well things are going with health care over the next four to eight years than pretty much any Democrat, even though both parties are thoroughly under control by the industry.

I'm pretty divided on health coverage. I can easily perceive the belief of conservatives that a federal health care system would be inefficient, and dangerous (giving too much power to the state). But I am definitely empathietic towards liberals who feel that people are being abused by the health care industry.

It's another one of those issues, that I think, can only be addressed once our government has been reformed, and our economy democratically controlled.

I used to be a supporter of my Governor. But her failure to her state and her strong support of Hillary have turned me off to her policies. As far as the healthcare issue, an initative for the legalization of Medical Marijuana has been approved for the November ballot in Michigan. Will the people back insurance and pharmaceutical companies and their manufactured drugs, or will a self sustainable plant get their approval. With all of the drug recalls and medical prescriptions for drugs taking our tax dollars, why not look to homeopathic medicines. The rainforest is full of them, well the rainforest that is left is full of them.

I just feel that healthcare as it is right now does not provide all the care or all the research into specific areas of treatment. Not to mention the millions of uninsured people in this country. How much money would taxpayers save if a Majority of the patients, that are being treated for the ailments mentioned in the link above, could grow their own medicine in theire back yard or garage.
Before you point out all of the evils of marijauna, and how it is the most dangerous drug ever, a gateway to the coked up freak, raping women to look for his next bump of crystal meth, While drinking Jack Daniels in the hood.
Compare that to the prescription drugs Vicodin and Oxycontin, not to mention Alcohol and Cigarettes, and see how those compare to Marijauna as far as danger and bodily harm.
Do the research, learn the facts. It can help sick people. Responsible use by People is not destructive.

It will be interesting to see the influence the information contained in these papers will have on the campaign trail. As of yet the Obama camp has failed to successfully exploit the former First Lady's hiccups in office.

It is possible that the "Obama camp" has thus far chosen to by-pass any "hiccups" from the former First Lady's tenure in the White House.

That is another way of assessing the race for the Dem. nomination process. It may be higher minded than some others.

Best regards to all.
