Obama and McCain take Vermont

NPR is calling Vermont for Democratic Senator Barack Obama and Republican Senator John McCain.

It's Obama's 12th victory in a row and takes McCain closer to closing out the GOP nomination.

"Vermont used to be a beauty pageant," said Obama voter John Sherman, 46, of Hartford told the Burlington Free-Press. "It used to be decided by the time it got here but now, tiny little Vermont has a say in the outcome."

Obama could win a 10-5 delegate selection for Obama, according to our senior Washington editor, Ron Elving. He noted that Obama could take enough delegates tonight that he could offset any "victories" by Clinton.

I would like to see how people throughout the rest of the world views our politics and election. Why let an ocean keep us from better understanding our neighbors?
