Cindy McCain More Complex Than Campaign Shows

Jill Zuckman of the Chicago Tribune has an interesting profile of Cindy McCain, the wife of Republican nominee Sen. John McCain. McCain is a far more intriguing personality than her rather quiet campaign role would suggest.

For instance, her very active interest work with Halo Trust, the international group that removes mines from post-conflict countries. Zuckman also talks to McCain about her children, including her son who has served in Iraq, her one-time addiction to pain-killers that was once the subject of a federal investigation, the millions left to her by her father, and her retort (which she said she made on her own) to Michelle Obama's comments about being proud of her country for the first time.

Worth a read.

Watch it Tom, you might be accused of being a "neo-con" now.

ZOMG! She's Princess Diana!

Come on, Cindy. Get your own pet cause. How unoriginal.

I wasn't aware that doing good things had an ideological component.

Now I am.

What else can she do, if McCain uses insulting words on her in public in front of the press.

Michelle is out there campaigning for her husband. She makes many speeches- week after week.
In some she is misinterpreted by the neo-con media. And when the feeding frenzy is on that is when Cindy jumps in to give her one jab - then she retreats - until she gets another chance.

We know she is more than just a silent blond. We want her out there. We know that she, unlike Michelle, will not make a slip - on make a remark that may be misconstrued - week after week.

Common Cindy, a multi-millionaire can't be all that shy about empathizing with the bitter people ----

I don't know but how complex can you be if you have to use, without permission recipes, from the food network and pass them off as your own?
