Video: Whoopi Goldberg Calls On Al Sharpton To Apologize to Duke Players -- Actress Whoopi Goldberg, moderator of ABC's "The View," yesterday asked the Rev. Al Sharpton to apologize to the Duke University lacrosse players targeted in false sexual assault claims.

During a conversation about Sharpton's demand that Isiah Thomas make amends for his conduct, Goldberg said, "I know Al that you were down there [Duke University campus] and you were really trying to look out for the folks that thought were being really be run over, but as it turns out it wasn't true. And I want you to apologize to them because those kids went through hell and I think we owe it to them."

I like Al Sharpton and I actually agree with Whoopi Goldberg. I've watched Al for a while and I've seen him grow, but it still concerns me that some (not all the time), he automatically believes people. He's getting better, but sometimes he jumps into agreeing to take up for people that could be lying. Sometimes I think he should just step back, observe, and find out all the elements before agreeing to support. He's very smart and I think this would actually help others' credibilities when admitting wrong.

Yesterday was the first time I watched the View since Whoopi joined the cast and she started the show with a bang. I must say she had a point. Al Sharpton tends to jump on any race matters that spells major publicity.

Now I don't fault Shapton for what he does but I think he needs to look into every case carefully before launching a full fledged attack on the opponent. On a rare occasion where he makes a mistake such as the Duke Lacross case, he needs to show a level of contrition - because no matter the breed of the defendants such as the Duke students; they were also victims.

Whoopi scoring more points with her white audience, what a surprise. If this was not just a play to the crowd why didn't she call him privately if this is such a great concern to her.Black people know already how those of the Caucasian persuasion love to hate on Rev. Al. Whoopi has been a sellout for years like O.J.Simpson she hangs out with the black community when it's advantages for her. How else is she helping her black brothers and sisters. Did she ask Imus to apologize, she's well known enough that she doesn't have to be the co-host of daytime TV. Where was her big mouth during the Jeanna 6 case? I live in Canada this country has so many wanabies she would fit in perfect up here. I call it cultural intimidation trying to blend in and therefore being accepted by the many and the powerful. She has picked one event that she knows will play to her white fans, while ignoring all the injustices that have been done to black people.I'd never thought that I would say this but bring back Rosie.

You had an ad for Sleuth playing durning your show, that said the screen writer was Harold Prince. It's Harold Pinter ( one of the greatest living play wrights ) , Not Harold Prince. I know you didn't cut the ad, just thought you'd like to know.

Whoopi still owes black folk an apology for just laughing and shrugging it off when Ted Danson roasted her at a Friars Club event years ago in black face. Blacks all over were so offended and she did nothing. NOW she here she is again going up to bat for the white folks she loves so much - as if these young white privileged males will never get their lives back on track unless good ole' mammy Whoopie obtains an apology from the big bad black activist. PLEASE SPARE ME !!

In his book Black lies White Lies, Tony Brown talks about the Black Unaccountable Machine (BUM's). He tell how these "well to do", black folk take every advantage being black has to offer but run from negative issues like roaches when the lights come on!
