Talk About It:
Jesse Jackson (Op-Ed): Most Democratic Candidates Are Ignoring African Americans -- "The Democratic candidates -- with the exception of John Edwards -- have virtually ignored the plight of African Americans in this country. The catastrophic crisis that engulfs the African-American community goes without mention. No urban agenda is given priority. When thousands of African Americans marched in protest in Jena, La., not one candidate showed up."

Come on Jesse! I am not sure if the Democrats are actually ignoring African American issues. But if they were I would not be surprised. They do not have to work for our vote. They already have it signed, sealed, and delivered. If they do ignore us what will we do? Go vote Republican in large numbers? Haha! Most of our people would rather walk on hot coals than vote for a Republican. Sure its a great way show the Repubs how much we collectively can't stand them. However, it is a horrible way to leverage our voting power.

No other ethnic group is as sold out to either political party like we are. That is heart of the problem.

"When thousands of African Americans marched in protest in Jena, La., not one candidate showed up."

Here is why they didn't show up: Jena was a fraud. Six thugs engaged in a hate crime. Most of what was reported by black "activists" turned out to be inaccurate (are you listening NAACP?). More questions are being raised about the noose "incident". I gotta hand it to the Dems, they smelled the foul odor coming from Jena long before the black "negro-leaders" did.

But now I have a question about Jesse. Why is he ignoring black issues? I mean, you ran down to Jena to support a bunch of thugs BUT he has yet to address the Dunbar Village issue. I guess for Jesse and Reverend "Hotcomb", black life is meaningless if the victimizer is not white. Better yet - black life has no value unless white folks can be linked to that life.

Hey NPR, when are you guys gonna talk about Dunbar Village? Ramona Moore? Danielle Baker? Annijah Rolax? Dillon Stewart? Nemorin James?

You lefties love to talk black issues as long as the "talk" does not have to take place in the black community. People are being victimized by their own people and the silence on this issue is deafening. When are you going to take a break from your Iraq/Anti - Bush diatribes and take Reverend "baby - daddy" and Reverend "hotcomb" to task for claiming black leadership mantles YET turning a blind eye to what goes on in the black community?

Ever notice how black folks will listen carefully to what Dyson says BUT when we gather amongst ourselves we talk Cosby?

The moral of this diatribe? Dyson, Sharpton, and Jackson are out of touch. Please note that I did not include Farrakhan. In spite of some of his rhetoric, you can see tangible results of his desire to improve the community.
